I, too, am a Type I diabetic . . .have been for 45 years now. My weight has been slowly but steadily creeping up over the past 12 years and EVERYTHING I try will not make it go down! I'm turning 54 and health problems are starting to set in. I know a lot of them have to do with the extra weight I am carrying around. I really, really need this to work. My only option left is something surgical, and I don't even want to go there. If you find any helpful tips or tricks, please post them. I need sooo much help and encouragement. My life is starting to get very depressing because of the weight AND the inability to get it down. Kathy

Hello fellow diabetics. :-) I am new to Sensa, started 3/25/11. I am in a unique position as I want to lose a total of 100 lbs and I also have Type 1 diabetes, for almost 30 years now. People may wonder how did I gain so much weight. Well, a lot of medical problems, life, etc....It's a loooong story, but we all have stories. ;-) My doctor and diabetes management team are involved and supportive of my goals, just in case anyone wonders. It will be tricky to balance insulin adjustments along with losing weight, eating less carbs, etc... Since I started Sensa a few days ago my blood glucose readings have been MUCH better. I have a long way to go but I don't care if it takes me 1-2 years to get there,as long as I do.

I have not yet recieved my Sensa yet but am looking forward to it. I have been on a no wheat, soy or dairy diet plan for over a year. Under doctors care, and a t first I got sugars under control for the 6 months I first started but they have sort of set me free and sugars are now a little out of control and I am doing a lot of herbal suppliments and have more or less gone off the drugs that make you fat and damage your body so that you needmore of the drugs they seem to want to give you. I know the weight is the biggest problem right now. I think having someone else to contact with problems will help when things start to get tough.

to swhisman1004 I was not a water drinker at all even when I had to take meds I would take it with anything but water but I have changed that and sometimes I put the crystal lite packet in my water that helps. I don't use it everyday, maybe 2 x a week and now all I drink is water no soda no juice. hope this info can help you

Hello everyone! This is my 1st week on Sensa and I hope I am doing it correctly! I know it was said that you didn't have to change your eating habits, but I'm thinking that the eating habits are what got me here in the 1st place! I will be practicing portion control, and weighing my foods and eating the recommended "serving size" to see how that works. I know I didn't gain weight overnight and I can't expect to lose it all overnight! Good luck to everyone!
